Whole Foods for Stress Reduction and Recovery
What is so unhealthy about stress? Everything as we all know. Well let's take a look at some ways stress effects us.
High Blood Pressure, Weight Gain or loss, Adbominal Obesity, Metabolic Syndrome,, Weakened Immune System,High Cholesterol, Chronic Disease, Increased Cellular Oxidation, Elevated Cortisol and Inflammatory Cytokines, Decreased mental focus, Depression, Decreased ability to pay attention during long term difficult tasks, Poor concentration, Fatigue, Headaches, Digestive problems,Muscle Tension, Grinding teeth, as well as many others.
So what can we do? We can start by eating a die of whole fresh organic (if possible ) food.
Vit. C - kale, collard leaves, guavas, sweet peppers, turnip greens, broccoli, mustard greens, watercress, cauliflower, persimmons, cabbage, strawberries, parsley greens, papayas, spinach, oranges, lemon juice, grapefruits, elderberries, turnips, mangoes, asparagus, cantaloupe, swiss chard, green onions, okra, tangerines, lima beans, black eyed peas, soybeans, green peas, radishes, raspberries, chinese cabbage, yellow summer squash, honeydew, tomatoes
Omega-3 Fish Oil-Add fatty cold water fish such as wild salmon, sardines, anchovies, trout, sablefish, halibut and herring to your diet. Have a serving atleast once or twice a week
B-Complex vits- a 3.5 oz serving - Brewers yeast, wheat germ, pine nuts, brazil nuts, peacans, pinto and red beans, split peas, millet, wheat bran, pistachio nuts, navy beans, buckwheat, oatmeal, lima beans, hazelnuts, wild rice, cashews, lentils, macadamia nuts, brown rice, garbonzo beans, garlic, almonds, pumpkin seeds, sesame seeds, sunflower seeds, peanuts, soybeans, organ meats, eggs almonds, sweet potatoes this is a small list there is much more

Sugar and Sweeteners - obesity, dental cavities, diabetes and poglycemia, increased triglycerides ( blood fats ) or candida (yeast)
Artificial Sweeteners ( Aspartame, Acesulfame K and Saccharin) behavioral problems, hyperactivity, allergies, and possibly carcinogenic. The government cautions against the use of any artificial sweeteners by children and pregnant women. FALL IS UPON US
Happy fall to everyone.
Fall is a very special time because it is like a new beginning and we seem to have energy to be in the kitchen, so let's remember to use all the wonderful fruits and veggies that are available. FRESH IS THE BEST.
Apples, pears, figs, dates, raisins, and bananas just to name a few
Pumpkins, squashes ( there are so many try them all), sweet potatoes, yams, and try spag. squash again just to name a few
Barley, millet, oats
Oh and remember our nuts lol chestnuts, walnuts, almonds, cashews, pumpkin seeds ( try them fresh from the pumpkins they are sooooooo good), sunflowers seeds just some of them
REMEMBER TO BABY STEP
I will put out a few recipes but I am having company for dinner and must go and feed them yummy foods
